Sheena Hang: Private/Public

When I was younger I always went to this park to get away from my family. I grew up in a strict home with parents who were always hard on us because they wanted us to have the best of everything. There were times when I couldn't take all the pressure and always ran to this park to be alone. I couldn't handle my parents anymore because all they could do would just be what I would be doing wrong. This park was my place where I could think about everything and handle my own situations. Everyday after school I would spend hours there because it was the only time I had to myself. My brother was there with me and we would chat about our day and what issues we had. We solved it together which is why I am close to my younger brother.

My brother and I would play basketball to see who could score the most and who had the best basketball shots! After playing basketball we would end up playing on the playground, our favorite was the monkey bars. I always got blisters from the monkey bars because I was always nervous that I would fall.

On a side note, I remember when my cousins from Michigan came to visit and we ended up in this park playing tag, but there was this little white girl pushing an empty baby stroller who just passed us while we were playing. It was scaring because her and I locked eyes for a couple seconds, it felt like minutes. We asked her if she wanted to play with us, but she said no. Well later that day we ended up in the movie theater. When we left the theater room and heading towards the door, BOOM!! IT WAS HER AGAIN!! She was still pushing the exact same stroller passing the theater doors and when I ran out there she disappeared!!!

  1. A lot of powerful stuff here. The little girl with the baby carriage is pretty unnerving to. Fells like you could weave a ghost story around her.
