The Pabst Mansion
This was an amazing experience. I felt as if I was a Queen in this mansion. Everything was so beautiful. The plaster ornaments with gold ink and gold leaf caught my attention the most. There was just so many details in them that I couldn't take me eyes off of them. The living room on the left when I first entered the Mansion was my favorite. I love the Baroque style decor it has and hoped that one day I can design my house just like that. While touring the place I thought of a part in Nato Thompson’s writing about Experimental Geography, the idea of space as art. The whole mansion was a piece of art. There were also lots of artwork on the walls and also even had a huge handmade dollhouse in a room. Each room was designed differently and had unique designs and decor. It was like touring a house and an art museum at the same time.
I had a great time at the Pabst Theater also. It brought back the memory of me and my Asian dance group back in middle school. We were invited to perform a dance there.The place looks even more beautiful than I remembered it. I'm surprised it was open for the public to wonder around the levels of the theater and the backstage of it. While standing in the middle of the stage I felt as if I was looking at a piece of art. the design of the place is absolutely stunning. There was just so many beautiful elements there such as the huge chandelier, large long windows and even the seats of the theater. This also remind me of Nato Thompson's idea of how space is art.
