This is the rock river trail in my hometown, Janesville. When I was younger my best friend, her brother and I would ride our bikes from their house to the gas station to get snacks and then ride here. Specifically to the structure you can barely see that's up ahead. I never knew what it actually was but underneath it was a cave you could climb to. We spent a lot of time here (not specifically in the cave..it was fondly referred to as "the pee cave". It smelled so bad). We would talk, fight, laugh, cry, and often play soccer or other sports in the field. It was a place we could dish out all our feelings at life, our families and each other but also have fun. I never even thought of this area as a "public" place and we would always get annoyed when there were other people around.
It's quite fitting that the street view of this place is so gloomy because the three of us had a major falling out when I was 16 and when I look at it now or drive past it, I get really sad remembering how close we were and how many memories we made here.
