I pass by this (what I presume is) parking structure on
Milwaukee and Wells often. Other parking structures I have seen in Milwaukee
seem to be built from a utilitarian approach, but this is one of them in particular that is a little more embellished, in this case with a geometric lattice-work window wrapped around the walls of the construction. I’m curious about the concept for its design; the
tiered façade which breaks the continuous line of windows, these landscape-oriented
window spaces remind me of elaborate Islamic architecture, the structure itself
is of the 60’s (noting the date inscribed, “1966”) with a pattern of squares.
